Le Méridien Paris Arc De Triomphe

Formerly known as the Le Méridien Etoile, this property has been redesignated as the Le Méridien Paris Arc De Triomphe. While we would deem it as somewhat walkable to the Arc de Triomphe, just be mindful that it is still about a 17-minute walk to the iconic Parisian landmark.

We arrived early in the morning, and was pleased to know that our suite was actually ready for us. Check-in was a breeze and we were issued our key cards shortly after. We picked this property as it was just a short walk to our car rental office for us to pick up our car before heading out of Paris.

The lobby was fairly quiet in the morning, so we didn’t have to compete with other guests for attention. There was even a welcome drink cart stand, for guests to help themselves to a cool and refreshing beverage while checking in.

In terms of the seating capacity, the lobby is quite spacious with lots of sofas around for guests to wait around before heading out for the day. The bar was also open for guests to enjoy a drink or two in their free time.

For the suite, it was really just two rooms connected via a door. The layout of the living room was fairly standard, and the furnishing and overall design touches were pretty sound and decent. However, we did note some seating stools under the television stand that looked a little out of place.

The suite also came with the usual minibar offerings, together with a kettle and a range of teas

The bedroom also had a pretty standard layout, that could fit a king sized mattress comfortably. Unlike the living room which had full height windows, the bedroom screamed for more natural lighting. Apart from the bedside and pendant lights, there were additional adjustable reading lights fitted on either side of the bed frame.

Our suite came with two bathrooms. One was fully accessible, and hence appeared larger than usual.

The second bathroom came with a 2-in-1 shower and bathtub. Thankfully we don’t see much of this in newer properties, as I am a firm believer that the shower and bathtub shouldn’t mix.

The suite also came with ample storage given the huge wardrobe and the many shelves within.

Later in the day, we visited the Executive Lounge for evening snacks and drinks. The layout was very linear, with seating stretching along the entire length of the lounge. There was even a bar within the lounge for guests to order a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from.

There was a good mix of sweet and savoury snacks, and the staff were very quick to replenish the food items throughout the evening.

Guests in the Executive Lounge can also enjoy the lush greenery afforded by the garden and courtyard located just outside.

While there was no swimming pool on the property, the fitness centre was adequate for most guests to keep themselves fit while on holiday.

There was even an rooftop outdoor terrace connected to the fitness centre for guests to take in some fresh air.

Before checking out the next day, we had a quick breakfast at the main restaurant located next to the lobby. Thankfully we headed down early as the breakfast crowd started building up at around 8, which is pretty early to be honest.

The buffet spread was quite acceptable for a property of this tier, and we definitely felt satiated after our meal.

Overall, the Le Méridien Paris Arc De Triomphe is a decent property for a city stay. As mentioned previously, despite the property’s name, it is actually quite a distance from Arc de Triomphe, but it’s not a big deal given that Paris is a very walkable city. The overall service standards and range of facilities and amenities were also par for the course with the Le Méridien branding.
