Hilton Anaheim

What’s the next best thing about visiting the Happiest Place on Earth, otherwise also known to all as Disneyland? Well, that’s being right next to it, at the Hilton Anaheim!

Conveniently located just opposite Disneyland Resort and Disney California Adventure Park, the Hilton Anaheim is perfect for those who have a few days planned for the Disney parks. If you drive, the large parking garage is located just adjacent to the main hotel building for easy vehicle access during your stay.

When we arrived, check in was a breeze as there was a dedicated line for Hilton Honors members.

While I’m happily a Diamond tier member now, for this stay I was still a Gold tier member. Regardless, the staff welcomed me warmly and extended the usual perks: an early check in and late check out, upgrade to a higher room category for the duration of the stay, and complimentary breakfast. Apart from the main breakfast venue, we were told that eligible guests would also receive Starbucks vouchers for some grab and go food and drink items from the Starbucks outlet located right at the hotel lobby. The staff was generous and simply handed me a stack of vouchers, which was more than adequate to be honest.

There was also a business centre at the lobby just in case anyone needed to work off a desktop.

It was quite a drive from LAX after all, so we headed straight to our room to freshen up to combat the jet lag. Overall, we found the room satisfactory and very much in line with expectations for the Hilton brand. The furnishings were standard: a large king bed with lots of space to leave stuff on the bedside tables, a decently sized work desk, and a lovely armchair by the window.

We also had a nice view of the swimming pool, which looked a little too small considering the size of this property.

The 2-in-1 shower and bathtub looked very clean and usable, but it definitely doesn’t match up to a free standing tub of course.

The rest of the bathroom was standard in terms of layout and amenities.

Other standard room features such as coffee, tea and water were available. The wardrobe was also more than sufficient for our personal effects.

Now for the hotel facilities. Apart from the outdoor pool, perhaps the key highlight of this hotel is its fitness centre. Termed HealthClub, the centre boasts a huge range of equipment and weights, perfect for those who wish to stay fit even while on holiday!

Clean towels were frequently replenished and guests could keep themselves hydrated with potable water dispensers around.

You’ll be happy to know that there is also an indoor pool at the HealthClub, perfect for the winter months.

As mentioned, breakfast was complimentary during our stay. The main breakfast venue was quite packed on most days during our stay, so we elected to redeem our vouchers at Starbucks for some grab and go items instead. Having a priority line at Starbucks for Hilton guests was a very nice touch indeed!

Overall, the Hilton Anaheim is great for families visiting the Disney parks just next door. Despite its size, the common spaces are large enough that you won’t feel any overcrowding. While the front desk and F&B venues can get busy, staff were always exuding positive energy and attentive to the guests’ needs. I would make this the property of choice for my stays in Anaheim, unless there is good reason to switch.
