It has been a couple of months since my last visit to the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel in their Executive Suite, so I decided to head back to check out their Pool Terrace Room with M Club lounge access this time round.

What sets the Pool Terrace Room apart from the regular rooms is that you’ll be able to enjoy direct access to the outdoor swimming pool, which allows you to enjoy resort-style living right in the heart of Singapore’s Orchard Road district.

At 42 sq metres, the Pool Terrace Rooms are spacious and feature an open bathroom concept, allowing the room to appear larger than it really is.

Large sliding doors can be closed to seal off the bathroom for privacy. Otherwise, they can be left open to allow you to watch your favourite show on television while you soak in the bathtub.
A comfortable chair with an ottoman is positioned right by the window facing the pool.

At the front of the room is a long work desk beneath the wall-mounted television, with a very powerful desk lamp.

There was also a coffee machine and tea cups for guests to use, as well as a mini fridge located in the cabinet just underneath.

Besides allowing guests to enjoy direct pool access, perhaps the key highlight of the Pool Terrace Room is the bathroom. The double vanity and standalone bathtub are features that you’ll find in most suites.

More importantly, the skylight located just behind and above the mirrors allow natural light to stream in. When it rains, the pitter-patter sounds are soothingly therapeutic, while the raindrops against the skylight cast dancing shadows in the bathroom.

The WC is enclosed for your privacy, while the rain shower is pretty spacious.

The large oval shaped bathtub can comfortably fit two persons, perfect for a couples bubble bath.

The Pool Terrace Room also has a walk-in wardrobe of sorts, with ample space for your suitcase and personal belongings.

Located just outside each Pool Terrace Room are some outdoor furniture, although the pool deck chairs appear more inviting.

The M Club lounge was open to guests with club access in the evenings. The menus were rotated on a daily basis so guests who have stays over several days will be able to enjoy a wider variety of food and beverage offerings.

Despite it getting quite packed during the peak evening periods, there were enough staff around to meet the demand.

As the sun sets, guests at the M Club lounge can enjoy the view of Orchard Road coming to life as the malls become illuminated for the night.

Breakfast was served at the Marriott Cafe right by the lobby. The standard Western options include freshly prepared eggs with bacon, sausages and baked beans, while Asian options include dim sum and chicken congee.

Guests will also be offered items from the bakery, as well as fresh fruit and yoghurt to complete the breakfast experience.
For lunch, if you don’t want to venture out far, why not pay Crossroads Cafe a visit? They serve a variety of local dishes like satay and laksa, as well as Western options such as steak. You can also enjoy discounted drinks during their happy hour too.

Facilities wise, apart from the swimming pool, guests can enjoy working out in comfort in their fully air conditioned fitness centre. It is fully equipped, so you won’t have any issues getting your regular workouts in.

This was yet another great stay at the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel. Not only was the Pool Terrace Room a refreshing change from the regular rooms, the M Club lounge experience was as great as ever. Being located in Orchard Road, this property is also great for those who are in much need for some retail therapy!
