Singapore Airlines has announced the restarting of non-stop flights from Singapore to New York, beginning from 9 Nov 2020.

Previously operated by the A350-900ULR aircraft non-stop from Singapore to Newark, this new thrice-weekly service will instead operate on the A350-900 aircraft with three cabin classes (42 Business, 24 Premium Economy and 187 Economy seats) between Singapore and New York JFK.

The flights will be assigned the flight numbers SQ24 and SQ23 for the outbound (SIN-JFK) and inbound (JFK-SIN) sectors respectively.

Singapore Airlines has cited an increased demand from the growing number of transfer passengers transiting through Singapore to onward connections as the key reason behind the resumption of these non-stop flights to New York. Moreover, flights to New York JFK instead of Newark will allow for better coordination of mixed passenger and cargo traffic to the Big Apple in the current operating climate.
