Located in the heart of Singapore’s shopping district, and only steps from the city state’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site the Singapore Botanic Gardens, is The St. Regis Singapore.
This was the first St. Regis property to open in Southeast Asia, and like all the other St. Regis properties worldwide, boasts the world famous St. Regis Butler Service.
Pulling up at the main driveway, we were greeted by the staff and were helped with our bags. The main entrance was grand, which was further accentuated by the huge chandelier right above you as you enter.
The Astor Bar is actually located to the right of the main entrance, but it wasn’t open during the time of our visit.
Upon entering the main hotel lobby, you’ll immediately connect with the St. Regis experience, which is nothing short of pure opulence.
The check-in process was personalised, at one of the desks used to receive guests. At the same time, we were served a welcome drink in little shot glasses. Thankfully, we were also informed of an upgrade to the Caroline Astor Suite with a beautiful view of the Singapore Botanic Gardens, and that our suite was already available for us at the time of check in.
As mentioned, the St. Regis Butler Service was highlighted at check in, and we simple requested for some hot chocolate to be sent to our suite.
After the check in formalities, we were ushered to the lift and the front desk staff wished us a pleasant stay. Having navigated ourselves to our suite, we decided to settle in and explore the features of the suite. Entering the suite, you’ll find the living room on the left, and the bedroom located on the right.
As promised, the Caroline Astor Suite boasts sweeping views of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Being a corner room, floor-to-ceiling windows wrap around the living room creating a spacious feel. All day and night curtains could be remotely controlled via switches to create the ambience you so desire.
The sofas offer enough seating should you wish to host some guests during your stay.
There was a plate of some fruit already prepared for us when we arrived too.
Even before we could settle in, the butler arrived with our hot chocolate, accompanied with really tasty cookies!
At the front of the living room, you’ll find a wall mounted flat screen smart television, coupled with a Bose surround sound system.
And on the right of it you’ll find a work desk complete with power sockets and AV ports.
Just right by the main entrance, you’ll have the minibar and some coffee and tea to enjoy at your convenience.
And now for the bedroom. With a large king sized bed framed with thoughtful bedside controls and fittings, this bedroom is absolutely dreamy.
The lighting can also be adjusted to create your desired ambience.
Furniture is kept to a minimum to avoid any unnecessary clutter in the bedroom.
On one side of the bedroom facing the bathroom, you’ll find a rather generous dressing table.
Directly connected to the bedroom is a walk-in wardrobe where you can unpack all your belongings during your stay.
This then leads to a huge bathroom, with a double vanity, a full-sized bathtub, and a walk-in shower.
Sometime during my stay, I had the butler assist with drawing a bubble bath and it was prepared perfectly!
The WC can be further accessed via a door connected to the bathroom. Note that the WC has another door which allows access from the living room as well.
For those who wish to squeeze in a workout or a swim during their stay, you’ll be pleased to know that the property boasts a fully equipped fitness centre, and a decent lap pool.
For those who would rather relax and unwind, you can use the facilities at the Remede Spa, which include a hot bath, steam room, and a sauna.
There is even an outdoor heated pool too.
In the evening, as part of the turndown service, the butler can help prepare your suite for a restful night.
You can also request to have some coffee or tea sent to your suite in the morning before you get started with your day.
In terms of dining options, do give The Drawing Room a go, where you can select from a list of casual dining options.
If you love Chinese cuisine, Yan Ting serves up a delectable selection of fine authentic Cantonese cuisine.
And for some snacks, you can try LaBrezza located by the pool, which was also where I enjoyed some afternoon tea during my stay.
Breakfast is served at Brasserie Les Saveurs, located right by the main lobby. Choose from a selection of dishes, but the epicurean omelette is a must try!
The restaurant also serves up gastronomic dinners, so do make it a point to dine there during your stay.
Overall, the St. Regis experience here in Singapore was flawless. Everything was well looked after, and all our needs were met. The Butler Service also lived up to our expectations, and more importantly, it was always service with a smile. With almost everything you’ll ever need for a hotel stay, the luxurious St. Regis in Singapore would certainly check all the boxes.
