In 2019, in preparation for massive upgrading works for Singapore Airlines’ SilverKris Lounges in Changi Terminal 3, Singapore Airlines passengers eligible for lounge access were temporarily reshuffled between lounge premises to make way for the renovation works.
As such, KrisFlyer Elite Gold members were re-accommodated to the newly opened Marhaba Lounge.
The lounge is actually located next to Singapore Food Street overlooking the B concourse gates.
If you follow the signs correctly, you should arrive at the main entrance to the lounge.
Note that a secondary entrance specially for KrisFlyer Elite Gold members has since opened further along the walkway.
Entry to the lounge was seamless, and you’d like to know that the lounge is also accessible using your Priority Pass if you have one.
When you enter the lounge, you’ll find comfortable lounge chairs arranged to face couple of television screens mounted on the far wall. The seats also come equipped with charging ports and reading lamps for your convenience.
If you turn right instead, it will bring you along a walkway that is lined with food and beverage that you can help yourselves to.
The high table along the length of the lounge offers a decent view of the tarmac should you wish to observe the ground movements at Terminal 3. Likewise, charging ports are available for your use here.
The food and beverage selection was quite basic at the time of my visit, but it was expected for a standard lounge catered for non-premium passengers.
Further along the buffet area, you’ll find some hot dishes that would be replenished fairly frequently.
Dining tables that can seat guests in parties of four offer convenient seating along the F&B section.
At the far end of the lounge, there’s additional seating along a long table or in striking red arm chairs. The section here was evidently more quiet than the one closer to the main entrance of the lounge, so if you require more peace and quiet, it might be a wise choice to seat yourself here.
To make sure you don’t miss your flight, the flight information screen is displayed prominently along the centre section walkway. There, you’ll also find a literature rack for your reading pleasure.
The Marhaba Lounge may not be over-the-top, but definitely adequate for a place to relax and perhaps to grab a snack before boarding for your onward journey. But of course, Singapore Airlines passengers will be looking forward to much prettier lounges after the renovation works at Terminal 3 are complete.
