In view of the COVID-19 situation, where KrisFlyer members may be unable to accrue sufficient elite qualifying miles to maintain their elite tier status, Singapore Airlines has decided to extend all KrisFlyer Elite memberships for an additional 12 months.
This extension applies to existing KrisFlyer Elite Gold and Silver members whose memberships are due to expire from Mar 2020 to Feb 2021.
If you do not see that your current membership expiry date has been extended by 12 months on your KrisFlyer account yet, do not panic. Essentially, the extension will be automatically applied by the end of your current expiry month, and it will be reflected on your KrisFlyer account as such.
If you have already successfully accrued sufficient miles to re-qualify for your Elite tier, this membership extension benefit does not entitle you to another year of membership. Also, this benefit doesn’t include any assistance for you to qualify for the next higher Elite tier. In other words, this isn’t an upgrade benefit, but merely a goodwill gesture for existing Elite tier members to enjoy another membership year beyond their current expiry date.
Expect delays for the renewal membership cards and kits to reach you due to a disruption to the supply chains and postal mail delivery service, which could take anytime from 4 to 5 months.
