The UOB PRVI Payment Facility is a great way to earn miles for miscellaneous payments that you do not usually get miles for, such as tax payments and rent. Unlike other similar platforms such as Citi PayAll where a designated payee is required, the UOB PRVI Payment Facility doesn’t require you to do so. In other words, you can simply request an amount through the facility with an admin fee, earn miles in the process, and make full payment back to UOB.
The process is simple. Just fill up the form with any amount up to your credit limit with UOB. Upon successful application of the facility, UOB will credit the requested amount to your designated bank account. You will earn 1 mpd for this requested amount too. Just remember to make payment to UOB as you would for any other credit card spend.
This facility effectively allows you to earn miles at a rate of 1 mpd. From now until 31 Dec 2019, the admin fee has been lowered to 1.9%. Taking the 1.9% admin fee into consideration, you’re actually paying 1.9 cents for each miles, which is reasonable.
For those holding the UOB Visa Infinite card, you might have been targeted for a similar promotion, except that you’ll need to request an amount of at least S$100000. With the same admin fee of 1.9%, this means that if you request the minimum amount, you will receive 100000 miles at a cost of S$1900, or 1.9 cents per mile.
