Alaska Mileage Plan sale is back, this time with a 30% discount

Alaska Mileage Plan offers pretty good sales periodically, usually in the form of bonus miles offered in addition to the miles purchased. Usually, a 40-50% bonus is enough to justify a purchase, especially if you’ve got some use for them in the near term.

This time, Alaska Mileage Plan is offering a discount of 30% instead. In terms of the cost per mile, this puts it at 2.07 US cents each, making it better than a bonus of 40%.

This offer will only last until 30 Jun 2019, so be sure to act quick if you’re in need of these miles. Remember not to purchase miles speculatively as you’ll never know when devaluations occur. Also, do note that Alaska Mileage Plan limits the number of miles you can purchase per calendar year to 150000, including bonuses. For this sale, the maximum number of miles you can purchase is 60000.

The Alaska Mileage Plan programme is great if you wish to try out First and Business Class products on partner airlines. The Japan Airlines trick for a ‘one-way’ Business Class seat within Asia is one such example.

Miles can also be used to redeem seats on Cathay Pacific, providing a comfortable way to travel to the US.
