Located within walking distance of the Petronas Twin Towers, the Fraser Residence Kuala Lumpur is centrally located and very accessible to major lines of communication in the Malaysian capital.
The porch and lobby were large and welcoming.
The floor to ceiling glass windows and marble flooring gave the hotel lobby a simple yet contemporary feel, accentuated by the spot lighting throughout the expanse of the lobby. There was seating available for guests as well.
There was a small business corner, which I found weirdly put together. The computers were placed on coffee tables that were simply too low to use them comfortably.
Check in was swift as I managed to avoid the afternoon peak check in period, and I was in my room in no time.
The room was large and well lit, and I loved the contrast between the carpet and flooring. While I found the walls a little bare, I accepted it as typical of most Fraser properties to keep things looking simple.
What should’ve been an ottoman was replaced by a small sofa at the foot of the bed, which was placed a little too close to the television. Nonetheless, the television was large enough to be viewed comfortably in bed. There was nothing inspiring about the work desk in the corner. A better move would have been to replace it with a glass table top and to rotate the desk to face the windows for a better view.
There was in fact another separate area with a sofa and coffee table, which might be useful for those who don’t travel light and require additional space for suitcases.
Along the hallway leading from the main door was the pantry area, with an induction stove, wash basin, refrigerator, and cabinets well stocked with dishware and cutlery.
There was even a washing machine and dryer, as well as a microwave oven.
There was ample storage in the wardrobe, which was also stocked with bathrobes and slippers.
The bathroom was quite large, with the bathtub separate from a standing shower. The countertop was also large enough for those who love travelling with their toiletries.
Here’s a view of the Petronas Twin Towers from the hotel.
The property boasts a full equipped fitness centre with a range of cardio and cable machines and free weights.
There is an outdoor area just next to the fitness centre that is perfect for morning yoga.
The pool was also surrounded by lush vegetation, and had a waterfall feature and a slide right in the middle.
For breakfast, expect a good mix of international and Asian cuisine, including the usual Western breakfast offerings, as well as more Oriental options like congee, noodles and rice. There was ample seating during my visit and it seemed that the restaurant can accommodate quite a number of guests, so overcrowding shouldn’t be an issue.
The Fraser Residence Kuala Lumpur is great for those who love being situated right in the city and within arms reach of most amenities. The staff were friendly and interiors very well maintained and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. This would definitely be a safe choice for those visiting Kuala Lumpur.
