The Fraser Suites Guangzhou is located in Tianhe CBD alongside commercial retail space, offering guests access to shopping and restaurant options. It is also well positioned right next to major lines of communication, including a subway station within walking distance.
Due to my late night arrival into Guangzhou, there was absolutely no one else checking in at the property besides me. However, the desks were manned as I had informed them of my approximate time of arrival that night.
While the staff were preparing my keys, I had the opportunity to explore the lobby, which was designed very much like a huge living room. There were many sofas arranged in various configurations, shelves with loads of literature, and even a mini business centre with terminals and printers.
I was glad that the check in process didn’t take long at all, as I was exhausted from all the travelling. I was led to my room by a member of staff, who ensured that everything was fine before excusing himself.
As with most Fraser properties, the room layout typically consists of a living room area, configured separately from the bedroom. Of course in this case, since this wasn’t a suite, there was no partition separating the two areas.
The television could be swiveled to face either the sofa or the bed, so you could watch the television from either side of the room.
Right next to the television was a work desk, with a well positioned reading lamp, just in case of some last minute work that you’d need to complete during your stay.
The bed was very comfortable, and I enjoyed great support from the pillows too.
The bathroom was fairly large, with the standing shower area located right next to a bathtub.
The sink area and tabletop could be larger, but otherwise I had no other issues.
The kitchenette area was pretty spacious, with an L-shaped countertop fully fitted with an induction stove, sink, and a microwave. The dining table could seat two comfortably as well.
After a restful night, I woke up to this view outside my room.
I also had more time to fully explore the premises. Here’s a look at the check in lobby area during the day.
The property also comes with a fully equipped gym on level 7, so fear not if you’re one of those who need to keep fit while travelling.
The outdoor pool on level 4 is also perfect for an afternoon dip.
Actually, the check in reception is located on level 7, and guests arriving at street level will find only the concierge desk which is always manned. Of course, you’ll be directed to the check in reception accordingly.
Overall, I had no issues with my stay. I found the staff very warm and accommodating to my requests. Most importantly, the property felt relatively new, and was well positioned alongside many amenities.
