For quite some time already, those holding the American Express KrisFlyer Ascend card can fast track themselves to the KrisFlyer Elite Gold status with just S$15000 of eligible spend on singaporeair.com within 12 months of card approval.
For solo travellers, or for those who travel using miles, this might be a tough bar to reach in order to attain the KrisFlyer Elite Gold status. Fortunately, American Express has launched a time-limited promotion to bring you a little closer to the coveted KrisFlyer Elite Gold status.
From 1 Mar to 1 Jun 2019, simply spend S$12000, of which S$3000 has to be transacted on the Singapore Airlines website or mobile app, in order to fast track your way to the KrisFlyer Elite Gold status. Once you have met the spend requirements, you should receive notification of your successful upgrade to the KrisFlyer Elite Gold tier within 8-10 weeks after the conclusion of the promotion period. Note that existing KrisFlyer Elite Gold members cannot use this promotion to further extend their membership tier for another year. In other words, you would need your current membership tier to lapse before using this promotion to upgrade yourself back to the elite tier.
For those who have already embarked on the original S$15000 spend requirement to attain the KrisFlyer Elite Gold tier, you will be able to make use of this current promotion, provided you meet the minimum spend of S$12000 between 1 Mar and 1 Jun 2019, of which S$3000 has to come from the Singapore Airlines website and mobile app. In the event you do not meet this spend requirement for the current promotion, all eligible spend will still contribute to the original S$15000 requirement.
Pay particular attention to the S$3000 spend requirement on the Singapore Airlines website and mobile app, as this only applies to flights originating from Singapore, and transacted in SGD.
