Starting from 28 Oct 2018, Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand will add one more daily flight between the cities of Singapore and Auckland, as part of the joint venture between both airlines.
The additional flight SQ281 will depart Singapore at 8:45 in the morning, and arrive in Auckland at 11:35 in the evening. This flight will be operated by a B777-300ER, and in order to match capacity to demand, the existing SQ285 service will be upgraded to an A380-800.
As part of the agreement, Singapore Airlines will operate this additional flight until Mar 2019, when Air New Zealand will take over this flight all the way through to Oct 2019. Air New Zealand will be operating the B787-9 aircraft for this route.
During the upcoming peak season, both airlines will operate a combined total of 35 return services per week between Singapore, and the cities of Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington in New Zealand.
