Located on the idyllic island of Sentosa, the W Singapore – Sentosa Cove literally feels like a home away from home. Arriving at the property, guests can expect to be received by the exceptionally well decorated and designed hotel lobby.
The clever use of flamboyant lights and contemporary ornaments really sets the hotel apart from most other chains.
Being an SPG Gold member, my room was ready the moment I arrived, and I was offered an upgrade to the next category room as well.
I was really looking forward to my stay, and as expected my room didn’t disappoint. Upon entering my room, I was impressed with how much space there was, and how everything came together so nicely.
The king sized bed was very comfortable, with reading lights conveniently placed by the bed side.
There was a nice chair to lounge in should you wish to engage yourself in some light reading too.
The table in the front of the room was large enough for me to conveniently leave my belongings lying around.
For those who don’t want any distractions, the TV screens can be closed too.
The room came with a nice balcony, but it was simply too warm during the day to sit outside.
Now turning to the minibar, it was stocked with a selection of beverages and snacks. Cost wise, I think you should only turn to the minibar when you’re desperate.
For those who don’t travel light, you’d like to know that the rooms come with a huge wardrobe, and I am certain you can unpack all your personal effects for your stay. The room also comes with bathrobes, slippers, ironing board, and a safe.
The bathroom has sliding frosted glass doors that provides a nice view into the room, providing different privacy levels depending on who you’re travelling with.
While I found the sink area a little small, I had nothing else to complain about the bathroom. It came with a full sized bathtub, and a shower too.
Back to the room, we all know some airlines have turned to mood lighting to provide passengers with greater comfort during the flight. Rooms at the W Singapore – Sentosa Cove also come with mood lighting to suit, or maybe to create, the atmosphere.
Those who wish to keep fit while travelling can take refuge at WET, the hotel’s large outdoor pool, as well as FIT, a fully equipped gym with all the machines and free weights that you’ll ever need.
A buffet breakfast is available at The Kitchen Table, with a wide selection of dishes to choose from. I would recommend that you show up earlier to avoid the crowds during the peak periods.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the W Singapore – Sentosa Cove. Besides the lovely rooms, facilities and amenities, I was impressed by the services rendered during my stay. Given that the hotel is located on an island off the coast of Singapore, it may be a little inconvenient for some guests to get around. But if your intent is to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, this is the right hotel for you.
