Business Class on Singapore Airlines A330-300 from Brisbane (BNE) to Singapore (SIN)

In preparation for my overnight flight from Brisbane to Singapore, I headed to the airport early in order to cater more time for dinner at the lounge. As expected, the check in rows were just opened, and the counter staff were ready to receive passengers for the flight.

With expedited security clearance for Business Class passengers, I was at the SilverKris lounge in no time. The lounge opened in 2016, and is very similar to the latest lounges that the airline has refurbished, such as Bangkok.

After a quick meal, I headed to the gate for boarding. Business Class passengers were called forward for boarding first, and were also informed that they could board the aircraft at their own convenience. Once onboard, I headed to my seat 15C to get myself comfortable. As the flight was full, and the airline used to operate aircraft with the regional Business Class, I had decided that it was better for me to pick an aisle seat.

Since this was a sleeper service, Business Class passengers can choose between having their meal just after take off, or just prior to landing.

After the doors were closed and a short taxi, we were airborne and on our way to Singapore. When it was safe to do so, the cabin crew prepared the meal for those passengers who had indicated that they wished to have their meal at the start of the flight. As I wanted some uninterrupted sleep all the way to Singapore, I decided to have my meal first. To begin, I had a selection of sliced fresh fruit together with a croissant.

For the main course, I had the American breakfast, which was a cheese omelette with herb, panfried bacon, roma tomato, sautéed mushrooms and potatoes. The portion was just nice and not too filling.

As we traversed over most of continental Australia, I turned in for the night. The seat was not ideal for sleeping, but for a medium-haul flight, it was just borderline acceptable. Thankfully, Singapore Airlines now operates the A350-900 aircraft to Brisbane, offering unrivalled comfort with their long-haul Business Class product. We touched down in Singapore on time, and with an arrival so early in the morning, clearing customs and immigration was a breeze.
