Located along Charlotte Street right in the centre of Brisbane CBD is the Oaks Charlotte Towers. The property is well within walking distance from South Bank and the City Botanic Gardens.
Oaks properties do not usually exude opulence, but rather adopt a simple and minimalist look. As expected the lobby was pretty bare, but served its purpose well. With abundant seating and abundant lighting, the lobby seemed very inviting.
Heading up to my room, I was pleased to find my 2-bedroom unit exceptionally spacious. The main door opens into the living room area, furnished with a sofa, coffee table, a work desk, and the usual TV entertainment system.
Just next to the living room was the kitchen, which came fully stocked with cutlery and dishware. With the stove, refrigerator and oven, you could practically whip up something substantial here. There was also a dining table to host your guests to a meal.
The two bedrooms were accessible on either sides of the living room. Both had a Queen sized bed, as well as a huge wardrobe, perfect for those who don’t like to travel light.
There was just one bathroom for the room, but it was huge with a spacious shower area.
I have a Fitness First membership that allows me to access gyms belonging to the chain worldwide, but I still decided to take a peek at the fitness centre and pool in the hotel. Both facilities pretty much met my expectations, although I spent most time working out at the nearby Fitness First gyms of course.
Overall, the Oaks Charlotte Towers in Brisbane is a very decent choice if you wish to be centrally located, while being able to enjoy the convenience of the amenities nearby.
