The next time you visit the sunny island of Sentosa, and need a place to stay, pop by the Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa. For those driving, entrance to the island is free of charge. Simply present your booking confirmation or hotel card at entry lanes 1 or 2 after crossing the bridge into Sentosa.
The lobby was very empty when I arrived, as I most definitely beat the check-in crowd. In the day, expect lots of natural light to illuminate the entire lobby. Some free flow mixed nuts and lemon water are were made available for all guests at the lobby.
Even if you’ve got a vehicle, you can make use of the hotel shuttle that can transport you across to Vivocity. The shuttle is fairly frequent, but try to avoid peak hours or you may find yourself waiting for your ride to or from the hotel.
My room was pretty decent in terms of its size, which was definitely more generous in space when compared to other city centre hotels of comparable room rates. The king bed was very comfortable, and room lighting was adequate. The air conditioning in the room was very strong, as were those in the common areas around the property.
There were the usual entertainment options, complimentary water, a small dressing table, as well as a sofa.
The bathroom was huge, with separate bathtub and shower facilities, and lots of toiletries.
The pool on the roof was not huge, but good enough for most recreational uses. A smaller and more intimate jacuzzi was also available. Stare out into the sea if you wish to catch a glimpse of the busy shipping lanes to the south of Singapore.
The hotel has a very well equipped gym for those who wish to break a sweat while on holiday.
Take a walk around the hotel grounds and you’ll enjoy lots of greenery, water features, and even some peacocks.
At night, lights illuminate the exterior for guests to enjoy a relaxing stroll after dinner.
Breakfast was served at Shutters, which offered a wide range of dishes, including nasi lemak, congee with fried doughsticks, and Western breakfast options.
An overall pleasant experience at the Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa.
