On your next visit to Phuket, if you prefer a little more peace and quiet, then the JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort and Spa is just for you. Just about two hours north of the famous Patong Beach, this hotel offers unparalleled tranquility.
Upon my arrival, I was welcomed by an enormous lobby with high ceilings and abundant seating.
Cold towels, a welcome snack and drink were also served while the front desk was processing my documents.
After a short wait, I headed up to my room.
What greeted me was nothing short of amazing. The room was just so inviting, probably because the staff had turned up the air conditioning, a respite from the heat and humidity outside.
The beds were just of the right firmness, and more pillows were available upon request.
Check out the elephant!
There was also a plate of fruit, which I helped myself to given that I was famished.
The bathroom was huge, with separate bathtub, shower facilities, and dual sinks. Check out the monkey too!
My room overlooked the huge pool outside, surrounded by lush greenery. On the balcony were comfortable cushioned seats to soak in the sun.
Touring the hotel grounds, I found the recreation centre with a gym, pool table, table tennis, foosball, table hockey, and bikes for rent.
I loved the fact that all the pools, which were huge by the way, were accessible from literally anywhere around the resort as they’re all interconnected.
Swim through pool bars and under nice arched bridges to the infinity pool, which offers magnificent views of the Andaman Sea.
Take a break on the private beach under the swaying coconut trees, where a decent selection of food and beverage is served.
Visit the Quan Spa and try one of their signature spa treatments too.
The breakfast hall is expansive, with a wide selection of both Thai and international offerings. Plus, you’ll be treated to amazing views while you dine.
The JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort and Spa was impressive. At dusk, I recommend that you unwind and take a stroll along the private beach before you retire for the night with no regrets.
