“Welcome aboard Mr Chan, go ahead and pick any seat.”
This was what greeted me when I boarded my flight from Sydney to Singapore. Having been assigned seat 1A, the Inflight Supervisor informed me that the entire First Class cabin was empty besides me, and that I had the flexibility to choose any seat.
Onboard the B777-300ER, Singapore Airlines has configured the First Class cabin in 2 rows of seats arranged 1-2-1 abreast, offering every passenger direct aisle access. Each seat is spacious, a generous 35 inches wide and upholstered in the finest grade full-grain leather with mahogany trimmings. I decided to settle for my assigned seat.
Even though this was not the latest First Class seat, it was still divine. With multiple reclining positions, I was able to enjoy endless entertainment options on KrisWorld in comfort, viewed on a large 23-inch flat screen television.
As I did not Book the Cook in time, I had to settle for the inflight menu options, which did not disappoint as usual.
After my first meal as I viewed the sunset, I decided to deploy me seat into a bed, which revealed itself to 80 inches of fully flat surface which gave me absolute sleeping comfort, complete with linen, duvet and pillows.
I woke up to have my next meal in bed, which was afforded by the tray table that could be adjusted to any height.
Soon, the cabin crew prepared the aircraft for landing. It was yet another great flight with Singapore Airlines.
