Singapore Airlines operates two daily flights from Singapore to Paris. Personally, I prefer the night flight as I can get a good night’s rest onboard, arriving refreshed and ready to explore the city the next morning. In preparation for the evening rush hour, all Business Class check-in desks were open to process passengers swiftly.

As supper would be served just after take-off, I elected to sample the selection of food and beverage at the SilverKris Lounge before heading to the gate.

Boarding for my flight SQ336 commenced on time, and it was operated on a B777-300ER aircraft, my personal favourite in the Singapore Airlines fleet. Business Class passengers were invited to board together with PPS Club passengers.

I was pleased to be assigned seat 15A just behind door 2L, which most frequent flyers would recognise as the bulkhead row. These seats offer extra legroom, and this will become more apparent when in bed mode.

Business Class seats on Singapore Airlines wide-body fleet are configured in a 1-2-1 layout, providing all-aisle access to passengers in the premium cabin. On the B777-300ER aircraft, these seats are wide and offer loads of storage.

When you arrive at your seat, you will probably find your noise cancelling headphones and a bottle of water in the storage compartment on the side console, as well as the menu tucked nicely in the literature compartment.

Boarding progressed smoothly and the cabin crew came along with hot towels and some pre-takeoff drinks. We were also given an amenity kit for the long overnight flight ahead of us.

With the doors closed on time, we pushed back and the safety video presentation was screened. As we taxied to the runway, the cabin lights were progressively dimmed as with all night take-offs and landings. With clearance to enter the active runway, the cabin crew were asked to take their seats, and passengers were reminded to have their seatbelts fastened and to raise their window shades. This was a good time for me to have a look at the inflight menu for the flight ahead.

As we climbed out of Singapore, the bright city lights faded off into the distance behind us. The cabin crew came around to serve us our after-takeoff drinks before commencing the supper service.

For the starter, we had a smoked salmon salad, which was light and refreshing. Accompanying it was a slice of warm and buttery garlic bread.

I had ordered the ravioli from the Book the Cook menu, and it was delicious!

To round off the meal, I had a slice of chocolate cake which was rich yet well balanced.

As it was almost 2 in the morning (Singapore time) by the time we finished supper, I quickly changed into something comfortable before turning in for the night. Some light turbulence rocked me to sleep and I actually had quite a few hours of uninterrupted sleep!

I woke up mid-flight for a cup of tea, and decided to get a bowl of noodles as a light refreshment too.

After finishing the comforting bowl of noodles, I dozed off again for a few more hours before the cabin crew woke me up for the breakfast service around 2 hours before landing.

To start off, I had a plate of chilled fresh fruit, and this was followed by some chicken curry, which I ordered from the Book the Cook menu. I actually thought the curry would be served with either rice or bread, but not both! Either way, they all went well with the curry, so no complaints there.

The sun began to rise as we commenced our descent into Paris. The cabin crew soon prepared the cabin for landing and we touched down pretty much on schedule.

The flight was overall very pleasant, and most importantly I slept very well throughout most of the overnight flight! If the overnight flight SQ336 is not to your liking, you can also opt for the day flight SQ332 instead, which gets you into Paris in the evening.
