The St. Regis Mumbai

Located about a 30-minute drive south of Mumbai International Airport, in the district of Lower Parel, is the St. Regis Mumbai. As our flight arrived in the evening prior, we decided to stay at the Hilton Mumbai International Airport for the night, before making the trip down to the city centre.

The St. Regis Mumbai has a huge driveway to welcome its guests. The hotel staff will make it a point to personally receive you from your vehicle. Once they intercept you, they’ll handle your bags and ensure that all your belongings are conveyed securely to your room or suite.

We were led to the main lobby for our check-in. The lobby was something one would expect from any St. Regis property – marble cladded pillars and floors, high ceilings, and the occasional artwork on display.

The property also has numerous lifts to move its guests along, so waiting times are generally shorter here.

The grand staircase in the main lobby is probably the centrepiece, but more on that later.

As we settled into our room, we were pleased to see that some welcome amenities and tea with snacks were already sent up, together with our bags. The butler also provided us with her private line so that we could reach out to her at anytime during our stay.

The interior decor was elegant, but in an understated way. Nothing too over the top it seems.

The layout and flow made sense, with a functional work area tucked away at a corner by the window. Bottled drinking water was also provided, with more available upon request.

The corner sofa was also a great addition to the room, right next to a coffee table that doubled as a small dining surface.

Now the bathroom had a spacious bathtub, and a separate rain shower, both of which were completely spotless.

The reflective and glass surfaces definitely created an illusion of added space in the bathroom.

As we had some time before heading out, we decided to tour the hotel grounds. The spa, which can get busy at times so advanced bookings are advised.

The fitness centre is huge, with all the standard equipment plus more. Guests can expect to workout while enjoying panoramic views of the city too.

The swimming pool and pool deck are both perfect for lounging and relaxing too. Palm trees line the area, which overlooks the city below. Couples should try to grab one of the cabanas for a more private setting.

In the evenings, if you don’t have any other plans, do make it a point to pop by the lobby, where the Champagne Evening Ritual will take place. Then treat yourself to a champagne flute!

Instead of heading out for dinner, we decided to give the in-house restaurant Seven Kitchens a go.

The restaurant offered a wide variety of options for its international buffet spread. We actually had to only sample the food items along the way! Too much of one thing isn’t a good idea for any buffet for that matter.

This is also the same venue where the breakfast buffet is served. You’ll definitely be spoilt for choice. From local favourites to Western options, you could potentially call it your brunch!

Finally, you should note that the St. Regis Mumbai is located right next to the upscale Palladium mall, making it so convenient for guests who are in desperate need for some retail therapy.

Overall, the St. Regis Mumbai hits all the right spots. From beautifully appointed rooms, to excellent facilities and amenities, and a top-notch butler service, you won’t be disappointed. Plus, you can take comfort that there’s a mall located right next to the hotel for your convenience!
