With Singapore Airlines operating out of the Queen’s Terminal (Terminal 2) at London Heathrow, alongside other Star Alliance carriers, the SilverKris Lounge is perfect for Singapore Airlines passengers departing on any one of the four daily flights to Singapore, as well as for other eligible passengers on other Star Alliance carriers.
The lounge is located close to gate B36, and has a clearly identifiable entrance.
Upon presenting my boarding pass to the counter staff, I was escorted to the First Class section of the lounge.
The lounge was designed by ONG&ONG, keeping in line with the ‘home away from home’ design concept for its newest lounges worldwide.
At the buffet area, the tables were well stocked with food and beverages.
Of course, what stood out was the dining area that provided all-day a la carte dining, with full table service provided.
Here’s a look at the all-day dining menu with the list of dishes that’s typically available.
I had a go at the Singapore Laksa and the Tumeric Cod Fillet, both of which were very delicious.
Now let’s have a look at the rest of the lounge. After dining, you can adjourn to the other section of the lounge, with more than sufficient seating available to choose from. There’s seating along the windows if you’d like a view of the tarmac.
Alternatively, sit in one of the more private cubicles if you need some peace and quiet to complete some unfinished work.
There’s also an area resembling a living room where you can keep up to date with the latest news on television.
These rooms offer the best privacy, especially if you need to make some important calls before your flight.
You can also lounge in one of these in a quiet corner if you’re all for a chat with your companion over tea.
Those who need some freshening up would be pleased to know that the lounge is equipped with shower facilities.
The SilverKris (First Class) lounge at London Heathrow was very thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of travellers. Overall, the ‘home away from home’ concept truly brings local touches unique to Singapore to passengers across the world.
