My flight to Beijing arrived late at night, so I decided to put up at the Crowne Plaza International Airport Beijing.
I was pleased to see that this property had a more modern look. Most Crowne Plaza properties tend to appear dated and in serious need for some refurbishment.
Stepping inside, I found the lobby very spacious. It was so late that no one else was checking in. The entrance to all rooms overlook the central atrium, allowing guests to appreciate the expansive space within the building.
I headed up to my room and found it to be very well furnished. A considerable effort was made to have the hotel rooms look more contemporary. The room lighting could be adjusted to my liking, and there were quite a number of lamps to provide additional lighting as required.
There was a dressing table and reading lamp at the front of the room, and a very small mirror which hardly served its purpose. Entertainment wise, there were lots of cable TV options. Beneath the flatscreen television was a chest of drawers for additional storage.
The bathroom was surprisingly large, with a full-sized rain shower and a huge mirror. Blinds are available if you need more privacy.
For those who need some exercise while on holiday, the hotel boasts an indoor pool, as well as a very well equipped fitness centre.
For breakfast, head down early to beat the morning crowd.
My stay at the Crowne Plaza International Airport Beijing far surpassed my expectations, or maybe I was too tired to be picky. The hotel is perfect for those transiting through the airport, or if your flight arrives late the night before heading into the city.
