Singapore Airlines to reveal new cabin products on 2 Nov 2017

Singapore Airlines will be revealing new products across all cabins on 2 Nov 2017, which will be fitted on all 5 brand new A380s to join the fleet. It is also expected that these new seats will be retrofitted on all other A380s in the existing fleet.

This will be an exciting development given that Singapore Airlines has always been at the forefront in setting industry standards for cabin products across all classes.

In First Class, Singapore Airlines offered fully lie flat beds on board the B747-400 even before those introduced in 2006 and 2013, which are currently featured on board the B777-300ER aircraft.

In Business Class, Singapore Airlines introduced inclined lie-flat Spacebed seats on board B747-400 and B777 aircraft before the fully lie-flat seats were introduced in 2006 and 2013, which are currently featured on board B777, A350 and A380 aircraft.

But what’s keeping all of us in suspense is how exactly the new Suites Class will look. Available only onboard the A380, the Suites Class has evolved over the years, and a radical change is expected for the upcoming reveal event.

A few months ago, a leaked seat map of the new A380 revealed the Suites Class on the upper deck, arranged in 3 rows in a 1-1 configuration.

This has been corroborated by an external shot of the aircraft undergoing flight tests, which also reveals that Singapore Airlines will be moving the Suites Class up to the front of the upper deck.

Well, we now know that this big reveal will take place in a few months’ time, and that the newly configured aircraft is expected to launch on routes between Singapore and Sydney, followed by London. As I will be in Europe next year, I have booked myself a seat in Suites Class from London to Singapore. Keeping my fingers crossed that the new aircraft will be deployed to London by then.
