Business Class on Singapore Airlines A330-300 from Singapore (SIN) to Brisbane (BNE)

Singapore Airlines operates the A330-300 aircraft on some of its flights between Singapore and Brisbane. This aircraft features the regional Business Class product in a 2-2-2 configuration, meaning that not all passengers will have direct aisle access.

On this flight, I was seated in 15K, and since it was a rather empty flight, I had 15H beside me empty as well. As usual, the cabin crew offered a pre-takeoff beverage and I decided on a glass of orange juice.

On overnight flights to Australia, Singapore Airlines operates a “sleeper service” where you can opt to have your meal immediately after take-off, or just prior to landing. So if you’re just intending to sleep all the way to your destination, you can be assured that you will not be disturbed much throughout the flight. For this flight, I decided to have my meal immediately after take-off so that I could sleep uninterrupted all the way to my arrival in Brisbane. It was a little weird for me to have breakfast for supper, but I was starving by the time I got onboard, hence it was justified.

A major complaint that I have of this seat is, that apart from the fact that not all passengers can have direct aisle access, the seat does not recline into a lie-flat position. Instead, the angled-flat seats mean that you tend to slide down ever so slightly while you are asleep. Also, there is generally limited storage in or around the seat, when compared to the long-haul Business Class product available on other Singapore Airlines aircraft. Nonetheless, on this flight, the service was as usual, immaculate.

After a few hours of sleep, the Captain announced on the PA system that we would be arriving in sunny Brisbane on schedule.
