Business Class on Singapore Airlines A380-800 from London (LHR) to Singapore (SIN)

The London-Singapore route is one of the most popular and high-yield routes in the Singapore Airlines network. Seats are always snapped up quickly, especially during the peak travel season. Given the number of Singaporeans studying and residing in the UK, flights can get pretty full during the term breaks, the holiday season, and significant occasions such as Chinese New Year. Be sure to book your seat well in advance if you’re intending to travel during these periods.

On this London-Singapore flight, I was assigned 25A on the upper deck. On the A380, Business Class seats are arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration on the upper deck. With the overhead compartments found only on either side of the cabin, passengers get more headroom, and the cabin feels a lot more spacious.

There is also ample storage space in and around the seat. In particular, passengers seated by the windows have additional storage compartments found between the seat and fuselage walls. The seats are wide at 35 inches across, and legroom is more than sufficient.

Meal service commenced shortly after takeoff.

I decided to catch some sleep thereafter, but found myself enjoying the inflight entertainment and a light meal instead. Seats can be converted into a fully flat bed, and you’ll be sure to enjoy the plush pillows and warm blankets provided on board.

A couple of hours prior to arrival, the second meal service commenced. There was something special about having nasi lemak 35000 feet in the air.

The cabin crew was swift to prepare the cabin for landing after the meal service. I have always been amazed at how the cabin crew of Singapore Airlines are both warm and yet very procedural when it comes to service on board. This ensures the utmost consistency and the feeling of familiarity that frequent flyers appreciate.
